    I have bt internet and an old cable feed to house . Guessing I don’t need a splitter ? ?

    no, you only need a splitter if you have more than one device connected to the cable feed

    You may need a small device called forward Path attenuater 6db.
    I do not know what is that

    Fist you need to check your cable line is active or not

    an attenuator adjusts the signal
    if your power levels are correct you won't need one
    if you are splitting the VM signal into 3 or 4 devices including the router, you may need a powered splitter

    I have a couple of 4 dB and a 6, I’ll try the six later where on the line should it go before or after the splitter ?

    With the old kv850 one had them at rear of box to allow adjustment on that.
