2347 Garda update: "
Junction 13 M50 (Ballinteer) is still impassable. Motorists are asked to avoid this location.
"A section of the
M1 is closed northbound just after the Port Tunnel, diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are advising motorists to avoid all unnecessary travel due to severe flooding. However, flood waters have started to recede."
2327 Dublin Airport: "Some access roads ... are flooded as a result of heavy rainfall in the past 12 hours.
"Therefore passengers are advised to check access routes before setting out on their journey to Dublin Airport."
2322 AA Roadwatch:
Harold's Cross Road inbound is impassable due to flooding between the Grand Canal and St Clare's Avenue.
Luas Red Line service is only running between Tallaght and Connolly.The
Luas Green Line is running a full service.
2320 The operators of the
M50 say they are waiting the arrival of four pumps at the scene. Northbound traffic is still being diverted off the M50 at Dundrum.
2310 AA Roadwatch on Twitter: M50 northbound is expected to remain closed until at least 1am between J14 Leopardstown & J12 Firhouse due to flooding.
2245 A young garda has been swept away in floods near Blessington in Co Wicklow.
The Garda Helicopter, Coast Guard and several mountain rescue teams are involved in a search and rescue operation.
The garda, aged in this 20s, was off-duty when he began directing traffic away from a dangerous bridge, which was covered in water at Ballysmuttan at around 7pm this evening.
2241 There is a road diversion in place between
Monasterevin junction and junction 15 on the N7 due to a lorry overturned. Traffic is being diverted down the old southbound main road down to Portlaoise.

"Spells of heavy rain affecting parts of north Leinster and Ulster will continue to clear northwards overnight, with drier weather developing in many areas and just a little patchy rain or drizzle.
"However, another spell of persistent and locally heavy rain will spread into much of Munster and south Leinster overnight."

2214 Bus Éireann says commuter services have experienced some delays and some of the high frequency services have been cancelled.
Expressway Services leaving Dublin were not affected. The situation is being monitored on a constant basis.
2207 Gardaí say the following routes/roads are flooded and impassable:
Millmount Avenue, Rush Village and Miller's Lane in Skerries.
Finglas Road at Glasnevin Cemetery is down to one lane.

2158 Gardaí say the following roads in Dublin are closed:
Ballybough Road, The Rock Road, Dodder Road, The Grand Canal Quay and

One lane of the
MI motorway is also closed between Dublin Airport and Balbriggan.
2155 Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin was evacuated at around 8pm tonight after the Level 1 Mall flooded with up to 10cm of water.
Centre Manager Don Nugent told RTÉ News that it was unclear at this stage how bad the damage is, but water is still entering the centre. He said many of the tenants were in the process of moving stock.

2058 AA Roadwatch says that the Luas Green Line is only running between Bride's Glen and Beechwood.
2055 The
M50 northbound has been closed from junction 14 following heavy flooding. There are delays in excess of one hour.
2052 Dublin City Manager John Tierney has declared the
situation a major emergency.
The local coordination centre for the city has been set up at Tara Street Fire Station, Dublin Fire Brigade headquarters, which will be active from 9pm.
At 9pm a conference call will take place between the principal response agencies, namely Dublin City Council, gardaí and the HSE, to determine what actions to take.
2050 Dublin Bus has a number of diversions in place due to flooding.
Route 13 Southside will operate via St. James's hospital back to route at Emmet road. Buses are out of Woodford using Monastry road in both directions.
Route 13 Northside is using Homefarm road in both directions and not serving Griffth avenue.
Route 150 is not serving Crumlin village and is using Long Mile road to Walkinstown road via Cromwellsfort road to normal route in both directions.
Route 77a and 27 are terminating on Cheeverstown road.
Route 69 not serving Saggart or Rathcoole terminating at Citywest.
Route 79 normal route to Decies road to Garryowen road onto Ballyfermot road terminating at Ballyfermot church in both directions.
Route 123 Not serving South Circular road or Galtimore road, operating via Herberton road and Crumlin road in both directions.
Route 78a Operating via St James's hospital and the South Circular road back to normal route at Emmet road.

2024 Kildare Road Safety Officer Declan Keogh has said flooding is affecting the
M7 at Citywest to Naas. There is also flooding between Kill and Johnstown both sides.
2022 There are reports that
Suir Road in Inchiore is badly flooded.
2019 Dublin Fire Brigade says it may have to evacuate some dwellings on
Lady Lane in Kilmainham because the Camac River has burst its banks.
2018 There are delays of over an hour for traffic leaving the M50 to
Newlands Cross getting out of Dublin on the Naas Road.
2015 AA Roadwatch says there is heavy flooding on
Seapoint Avenue and on the
Rock Road at Booterstown Avenue.
2014 Over one
month's worth of rain has fallen in the past 24 hours at Casement Aerodrome according to the Met Office.
Average rainfall for the month of October is 69mm.
Over the past 24 hours 87mm has fallen, bringing the total so far this month to 157mm - more than double the monthly average and four times more than fell in the entire month of October last year.
2012 The operators of the
M50 motorway in Dublin are advising motorists to expect delays of up to one hour this evening. art of the motorway has been flooded between
junctions 13 and 12. There are currently lengthy delays northbound.
2006 AA Roadwatch is reporting flooding on a number of roads.
There is flooding southbound on the
N11 Dublin/Wexford Rd between the Kilmacanogue exit and Lil Doyles Pub exit.
Bridges on the
Ballyknockan Road and the Lacken Road have burst their banks.
There is flooding southbound on the
M7 Dublin/Limerick Rd between
J17 Portlaoise Centre and J18 Portlaoise West.
In Wicklow,
Blessington gardaí are advising motorists not to use the
Sally Gap and all access roads to Valleymount and Lacken.
In
Louth, the Dunleer/Collon Rd (R169) at Kirwan's Cross is impassable due to flooding.
Extreme care is urged on all roads in Co
Monaghan due to the severe weather.
The
N7/Naas Rd is impassable in both directions at J6 Castlewarden due to flooding and motorists should take an alternative route.
In
Meath, the Ratoath/Dunshaughlin Rd (R125) is flooded.
2000 Gardaí say the Lower Road at
Strawberry Beds is now closed to all traffic.
Gardaí are also advising drivers to avoid the old
Kilmainham area in Dublin.
1930 Surface water or flooding is also causing traffic delays on Parkgate Street, Kylemore Road, N81 in Tallaght, the Long Mile Road and on the Chapelizod by-pass.
The slip road onto the
N2 at M50 Junction 5 (Finglas) is particularly hazardous due to surface water.
There is also flooding on the
N7 between Citywest and Rathcoole, on the
N11 at Foster's Avenue and Cornelscourt, and also on the
N1 at Santry.
A number of roads are also flooded around
Tramore in Co Waterford.
The PSNI is also appealing to motorists to take extra care on the roads due to spray and excess water.
