Everything you need once you have bought your Kryptview a780 box?

Hi there,

As you can see I'm new to this forum. I'm looking at buying a Satellite Receiver in the next few days and want to know how easy it is to set up? I'm looking at getting the Kryptview a780 box, unless there's a better one about?

I've quickly read that it will need flashing, and you more than likely need some extra cables and what have you, so bascially what I'm asking is... What do you need to get it all up and running?

As I am such a newbie I would like to know a few more things too...

Where would be a good place to buy one from?
Do you need to put a code in if it gets scrambled?
I have been told to look for 'Nagra 3' what is this ?
Does it take a card?
Generally how long do they last?

Sorry if I sound really pathetic, but I'm sure you guys will be able to help me.

Kryptview box is a cable receiver.

It doesn't work with a satelite dish !!!!!

Look in the satelite forum for sat boxes.
the Blade box keeps popping up in various posts but don't no much more
than they are a HD sat box.

I can't really help with your other questions until you know
which box you are going to buy.
 
Kryptview is the only cable box working at the moment.

You need to read the tutorials at the top of this forum in the stickies section it will answer most questions
about flashing and cables etc.

It is fairly easy to flash

There is a post about NAG 3 in the general cable section which explains what you
need to know about that.

Most users I guess are pretty happy with what they have bought

mycablebox sells them, next day delivery (no problem with them)
but if you google it i am sure there are plenty of other suppliers out there
if you prefer

nobody knows how long they will last, you either jump in and take
a chance or don't.

Duotech Electronics in Birmingham sell a alternative to the kryptview A850, google them and give them a call. So far everyone I've spoke to say good things about them
