Iv'e set up a RaspberryPi media server for something to do over xmas and connected it to one of my E2 boxes (Mut@nt Running Vix).

It kind of works except even though I have formatted the external drive the RaspberryPi uses to EXT4, 1 hour of HD recording is taking more than 3GB of space and it then starts to really slow down the E2 box that is recording to it.

Can any Tekkers shed any light on this please? Should I have formatted to EXT3 and not EXT4?

EXT4 has been the default format used for initialising a hard drive in ViX for well over two years. I doubt it has any thing to do with the format but rather the drive you are using.
