HDMI over Ethernet

gillettos

Newbie
Hi, anyone ever done this??

If so what was the cable type used and were they successful??

I've tried with varying cat5, cat5e, cat6, and even cat7 cables. Had very mixed results though. The best solid picture which has no interference / flickering etc is the cable which has no ID on it, so not got a clue on the type!! Doh

Thanks in advance :0)

I have this in my house, I used cat 6 I get no interference. My box is located in a cupboard and then goes into a 8 way splitter, I also use hdmi ir senders

Hi, thanks for the response.

I've found plenty of success stories but I'm really struggling.

I've had a Cat 6 cable come today, tried that, no luck what so ever (no pic at all).

If you read the label on the outer sheath can you tell me what it says please? And do you have any issues at all?? Not even picture freezing etc etc?

What kind of adapters are you using to convert to hdmi?

I get the odd glitch, but I also get this on a tv that does have a hdmi cable going to it (out of the splitter)apart from that the ir over hdmi on one telly like the remote to have good batteries
