Is my internal HD knackered?

When I try to initialise my internal HD it gives this error. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Is your image (ie open vix, open atv) up to date. Or you could try to format it on a pc.

Yes my image is up to date. I suppose I could try and format on a PC.

I opened up my box to have a look at the leads and it's not obvious how I would connect the HD to my PC to format it. Any helpful tips?

You would need a pc tower and connect the HDD to the motherboard sata.There maybe other ways but not sure. Maybe a sata to usb adaptor.

I think I could probably do that. I suppose I could also just go with an external HD for a simple fix. I do have plenty of pen drives.

I got it working again. I had to remove the drive and plug it into my desktop and even then the drive wasn't formatting in windows so I used partitioning software and that did the job.
