Kit Kat Chunky bars recalled after plastic found in products

CONFECTIONERY giant Nestle has issued a recall of some of its Kit Kat range of chocolate bars and Easter eggs following the discovery of plastic in some of its products.





They include four Kit Kat Chunky special variety 48g bars in Peanut Butter, Hazelnut, Choc Fudge and Caramel flavour as well as the Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg.


The products include the Peanut Butter bar with a best-before date range of 09/13 to 02/14; the Hazelnut and Choc Fudge bars with best-before date ranges of 09/13 to 10/13; the Caramel bar with a best-before date range of 06/13 to 7/13; and the Chunky Hazelnut multipack with a best-before date range of 09/13 to 12/13.


The recall also includes the Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg with a best-before date of 07/13.


Nestle said: "Seven consumers have contacted us after finding small pieces of plastic in the product. We have decided to voluntarily recall the entire production of these four Kit Kat Chunky varieties and the Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg."
