*kybox f5 recovery

Hi peeps please help!!!! am trying to recover a *kybox f5 which boots up to L100 by rs232 method, but get stb memory fault. Have tried different f/w's still no joy, have read somewhere that i need to run a confiq file which is in the rs232 recovery tool, but don't know how to run it, could somebody be kind enough to point me in the right direction. bought myself a genuine power adopter, the box is dead with this, but when i use 2 pin power adopter, which came with the box then box loads up to L100. many thanks in advance

The genuine uk psu should work [some new ones from e-bay are duff]--to run the config batt file--open the loader file but do not press exe--ensure RS232 null modem cable is connected,power on and click config batt --a screen flash and thats it but nothing ever seems to be done or happenlol
Remove power cable--execute erom tool and try again.

thanks for your info reaper, still no joy must be a clone image. any more suggestions mate?
