Looking to upgrade my son's pc as a couple of games only run at medium rather than ultra

B1g B1ll

Newbie
At the minute he has
A h81m plus motherboard
i5 4430 chip
Xf R9 280x gpu
2x ddr3 1600 mhz ram
Msi Dragon liquid cpu cooler
Air series sp140 fan

In a Aerocool XPredator 0.7mm gaming cube
Need to keep costs down

So 2 of those? (16gb total)

What is he trying to run on there?

My lad has a pc with i5 processor, 2gb gpu and 8gb ram and his runs great - black ops 3, gta v etc all nice and smooth.

No 8gb in total 2 4gb b
Gpu is 3gb
Black ops
Counter strike
And overwatch
Think it should run the above on ultra but seems to struggle a bit
I know the easy upgrade is the ram
Was considering a an ssd for the operating system
Looking for options to make it better for him

SSD's aren't huge capacity though so you couldn't really store many game files on it so not much point I don't think.

RAM would certainly help though.

Yes ssd was just for operating system believe it's quicker to start up and to run core files on

Yes, they are better in that respect but for gaming i'm not so sure unless the game files are on the SSD and with them being so small, you wouldn't fit many games on one... they're pretty expensive aren't they the SSD's for the capacity of them. I have a 120gb one in my PC and that was about a hundred quid at the time.

Am sure like everything the price will come down
But will see what other options I have as well as the ram
