New box has arrived is there anything I need to do to set this up or will it be ready to go once I give provider my mac?

Your supplier will give you a portal http link. Just bang that in, ensure auto updates is on and refresh portal and voila

I think there is an alternative to portal ,which use xtream app anyway I'm still not sure because i never tried a mag box

As @davethecat says, your provider will give you a portal address. This is all you need to input into your box for it to be up and running

How to add portal to mag250/254/256

How to add/change a portal:

The easiest way is to start from the beginning.

1: turn off your box and then turn it back on.

2: when you get to the "Loading" image, press your "set/setup" button on your remote. This will bring you to the "inner portal".

3: press your "set/setup" button again. Then go to "Servers".

4: change "portal URL 1" to the new portal by pressing the "KB" button and typing the address

5: press the "KB" button again and press ok, then you will be returned to the previous screen.

How do I change the portal url on zgemma h.2s .

zgemma h2s setup is different. Mag is built for iptv you need to lookup the various mrthods on h2s
