Nvidia shield, is it worth the money? It will be used for Kodi/Terrarium/ IPTV for sports.

I have done all the Firesticks/Fire TV/ random Android boxes and each one of them has good and bad points.....usually more bad than good.

I don't have a gaming PC, so this side of things I'm not bothered about.

Genuine opinions please, is it worth it and why?

    Thanks

Nvidia Shield is a very quick box, probable the quickest around. It is geared a lot towards gaming too but is very good for Kodi, IPTV etc and even has Plex media server built in which is a plus.Great app support ,good operating system and updated on a regular basis. You even get a headphone imput on the remote which is a good idea.I think the stuff you run runs OK on amazon stuff but I know what you mean about good and bad points and Shield is in another league in my opinion.

No don't buy it. I can't bare the threads complaining about how much it costs or that it doesn't hoover your house for you

Aww damn it, I thought it made a brew for you as well ready for when you get up in a morning. No point in buying it now if it's just for apps.

Lol it's a good box waste of money if you're not gaming though

Ok, I am seriously considering biting the bullet and getting a shield. Does anyone use it for gaming, as I may as well get the full use out of it. What is GEForce Now, can I stream games on the shield, I keep reading it online but cant find a simple answer. I know you can also play PC games, but do I need a gaming PC to be able to do this?

TBH it will never replace something like an xbox but there are 80 or so games you can download via "gforce now" but you need a subscription that is about £7.95 a month. You can stream games but you do need a gaming pc to do that.

Apparently GeForce now is free on Shield, not sure if this is only for a set time, even more reason to buy it I think.

Bought a shield, well worth the money, amazing bit of kit. Far superior to any other Android box out there, runs Kodi/IPTV/Terrarium like a dream, wish I had bought one sooner.

I have got an app from my supplier but I also tried Perfect Player, both run faster than I have ever experienced with any other box.
