The appointment of former Wales, Blackburn and Manchester City manager Hughes on a two-year deal was confirmed by the Cottagers on Thursday night. The post was available after Hodgson, who guided Fulham to the Europa League final last term, departed the London club for Liverpoollast month. And the 62-year-old, speaking after Reds' Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnicki in Macedonia on Thursday, was full of praise for his replacement.
