Cable Streaming/ file transfer

Hi guys, first I'd like to thank sucmnsee & dillyp for their useful advice they gave me in my "161 updates thread" , for whatever reason, my posts are moderated now.

Now, can I stream a movie file to my H1 , or can I FTP a file straight to the external hard drive I have attached to it?
