Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni is recovering from a mild stroke he suffered during surgery, according to reports from Italy.
Trapattoni was undergoing routine carotid artery surgery at hospital in Milan on December 29 when he suffered the stroke, which is reported to have caused partial paralysis down the right side of his body.
The 71-year-old manager has already been discharged from hospital and is continuing his recovery at his home near Milan.
A spokesman for the FAI said they were not aware of any recent health problems suffered by their manager.
Trapattoni has had a previous health concern during his time as Ireland manager and underwent minor abdominal surgery in Dublin in August after suffering a bout of food poisoning.
