Well good questions in my opinion
As we all know its a risk we take when persuing these things and only the powers that be will know for 100% sure how long its going to last etc.
I personally look at it like this is that the savings i make against a legit sub with them is huge and i am willing to take the risk etc.
As for prices for lines they can range anywhere from £20 - £60 etc. ;)

How long you get does depend on what you're paying
If you're on a cheaper cache server for about £30 year then you might as well pay for the year as it's no big amount
If you're paying more for a server with own local cards then go for 3 or 6 months if you're not happy paying for a year.

If you have been on a yearly sub, and you are happy with the provider, then why dont you just drop down to 6 monthly, just in case, it shouldnt cost too much extra either if you then decide to take another 6 months at the end.
