what is the best router to use instead of superhub 3?

Hi Guys

Apologies if this has been mentioned many times before. I have a basic understanding but looking for a bit more guidance. I have 200mb VM broadband on a super hub 3.

My gripe with it along with others is if i wish to use a VPN my speed goes as low as 20mbs.

If i purchase a separate router and use the hub 3 in modem mode will this bring the vpn speed up?

If so which are the routers you guys recommend/

I don't use a VPN but I have the SH3 in modem mode with an Asus RT-N66U which works great.

I don't know if I had a bad experience with the SH3 but it didn't make it past the first day.
The ASUS is fully configurable and you can use a VPN with it.

thanks for your feedback. do you know if vpn speeds will be quite as bad as they are if i used one on the superhub 3?

i was able to connect to a vpn via an app on a device but not run a vpn on the shub itself.
