Wii Setup on projector

My home theatre uses a HD Projector for a giant 1080p wall of goodness. I have hooked my wii up to it, but seem to be having lag/ skipping with the wii remotes. The sensor is more or less front and center. Not sure if maybe there could be something interfering with the signal from the projector?

Anyone have a similar setup or any thoughts?

I often find that if the sun is shining strongly toward the wiimotes that they act up a bit, it could be the same when your projector points (shines) at the sensor??

That makes sense. Is there perhaps a better type of light? I'll change the light temperature K and some other options in the menu.
