Yahoo has revealed plans to ditch the use of Facebook and Google social networks for signing into its services.
The web portal will gradually move back towards pushing users to register for a Yahoo ID.
Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick'Em - a fantasy NCAA college basketball team service - will be the first to adopt the new strategy, according to Reuters.
"Yahoo is continually working on improving the user experience, which includes our sign-in process for Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick'Em," a spokesperson for the company announced, adding that the option will be removed from all Yahoo properties eventually.
"This new process, which now asks users to sign in with a Yahoo username, will allow us to offer the best personalized experience to everyone."
