Zgemma star with VM?

I am looking at getting one of these now that my openbox has ceased working.

I am currently with VM and have a question, is it possible to get a cable splitter and use both this new box and my VM box?

Also does this work the same way i.e I buy the box and then buy a line from somewhere.

yeah this is exactly how it works, there are other boxes you can buy rather then Zgemma. Using a splitter kit will allow you to receive cable services, your splitting the feed so you have a vm service to the box
