zgemma streaming to another device

    Hi All,

I'm in the process of buying a new tv and I'm going to move the existing one into the kitchen. I already have an rf modulator etc so I can watch the same channel in the kitchen but was thinking about a device to allow me to use the second tuner so I could watch a different channel. I've got Kodi on an android box upstairs so I know I could do it that way but wondered if there was another way. The drawback of Kodi is that you can't have all of the channels as it simple takes too long to load the bouquets and if you don;t power the box off completely it doesn't free the second tuner for recordings.

In theory all I want is openwebif or another app that I can run but the TV is not a smart tv so I can't at the minute. I know you can get smart tv sticks that make your tv smart. Has anybody tried to do it this way before. If so what apps will run on those?

    Any other recommendations welcomed

Try dream player app on the android box. Or TiMote app but it streams through Kodi.

Amazon firestick works very well for running those apps, or set up favorites bouquet on zgemma and stream only it to kodi so it loads in a minute or two when you boot it up.

Your doing it wrong re the bouquets - see part 5 of my guide http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-sta...talling-kodi-mobdro-every-step-explained.html

You still have the problem with the tuner being taken up with the recording, but Ive always been able to work around that issue.

Hi, I've got mine all set up now to 1 kodi box and 1 android TV, working pretty well though I need to work on a few buffer/cache settings I think.

The main issue I seem to have is when I stream a recording to Kodi, the audio defaults to descriptive audio and I have to go into the audio settings in kodi each time to change the audio stream from 1/2 to 2/2/. Setting the 2/2 stream as default for all media doesn't seem to work. It's happening on the Kodi box and the Android TV too, so not an individual box setting.

I'm assuming that this is just an artefact of the order the audio streams are loaded in, as playback on the Zgemma box and live TV watching doesn't have the same problem.

So, is there any way to exclude the descriptive audio from recordings in the first place as I'll never need them - then only 1 stream will load. Alternatively, is there a workaround to prevent it happening on playback to Kodi?

    I've just encountered this.

Whilst I can live with switching tracks within VLC and Firestick/Kodi playback, it's not ideal if you're looking to dump stuff to USB for that long weekend at the cabin :camping: where you can't switch audio tracks on the TV.

At the end of the day it can be stripped out using Handbrake but it would be interesting to know if there's an "at source" solution.
