installing oc

OK this looks like it cant be fixed,i was given a PC by a friend when turned on a few thing appear like no 0 drive found,when i try to run an xp install it starts loading file then turns to the blue screen of death this keeps happening,when i try a vista install i get as far as what drive do u want to store it in but i don't see any drives the box is empty,i think someone might have deleted every thing on the PC.

A message did appear saying something about contact symantec,so i think it was fried by one of there data delation softwear disc's.

hey,saw this in another forum. if no drive recognized,try going into the bios setup and see if its set to recognize the drive. also the message to contact symantic is puzzling.it doesnt sound like a full format was done on the computer.if you can get the bios to recognize the drive then when the install disk gives the option,do a full format and a clean install.
