ABM not able to run a scan.

Get failed to tune virgin UK on tuner B

Please check tuner is correctly configured

You can receive the specified frequency

Now I’ve been running this box for over 2 years with no issues with tuners etc.

Recently I’ve been having poor picture quality and pixelation on Channel over the 720 frequency.

Not sure if related but could there be something wrong with my incoming splitter? The power level have been verified as being fine on here by another TK vet.

Any other ideas on what I can do?

Version 3.1 of AbM I’m running a manual scan right now to see if it works and then ill update provider files and try abm again. I come back once this is done take a while

Ran the manual scan, provider file didn't need updating but still the same issue, tuner not able to scan,

How can i update ABM from the web terminal? is this possible, i am also running openATV 6.2, is there a newer version?

If the tuner couldn't scan, the manual scan would have finished in 2 seconds with no channels found.
If it scanned hundreds of channels the tuner works and you have a configuration problem with ABM
Remove it. Green.red.extensions
Click autobouquetmaker and ok to remove
Reboot the box
Green, green. Extensions
Install autobouquetmaker
Setup netid and scan

Yeah that's what i thought as well, manual scan returned something like 488 channels so i knew it is finding them ok just ABM not working, ill give that a go. Cheers

Right so i removed ABM and downloaded the plug in again after reboot now and still getting same message.

Set Net ID etc too but no difference
:X3:

Which netid are you using?

in tuner config, check Tuner B is set to Virginmedia all systems
Don't set a netid in tuner config leave it at 00000

out of interest when was the last time you flashed the box, you say you've had no issues for 2 years, have you flashed the box more recently than that?

Yes i updated the box to OpenATV 6.2 and ABM to 3.1 about 6 months ago maybe not sure of the exact date tbh.

You may have to run the NIT analyser tool
Virgin may have changed frequencies
Can you get any channels at all? - ch4 or ch5?

Tried changing it to 00000 but still the same issue. Even tried 40981 Edinburgh NetID but same message.

Yes i get most channels only any channels above 720 Frequency. I am going to try an attenuator for the signal issues but the ABM scan isn't working and that was working yesterday. Woke up today and had the tuner failed message when i turned on tv

Swap the boxes around to test cabling.

Cable frequencies do not change very often. If you are only using Cable, no need to run ABM daily.

Ok Abu,

I will do this and post back the outcome. Yeah i mean its not huge issue right now but obviously just wondering why it is now showing up this error when had no issues previously.

Ok so i swapped the boxes around, both ABM scans worked on each box, swap them back and I am back to the same issue with the same box!! My next move is to replace the coax cabling for the box downstairs. Any other ideas?
