Cable Please help to get Saorview onto Zgemma H2H

Saorview will also work on their tv if new in the last say 10 years with a feed.
If you get the box working on saorview does it have / want recordings done as if recording saorview on box you have to view sat on box,BUT if tv has a working saorview tuner and aerial you can view on that and recording on box on saorview.

A satellite dish receives satellite signal.
An aerial receives terrestrial signal.

If you want Saorview, you need to connect an aerial to your box.

Whether you use a diplexer and merge the signal then unmerge signal by the box is irrelevant. As your box only has one satellite tuner, I don't see the point in a diplexer.
I used to connect a terrestrial aerial into my Zgemma H.2H combo box's Tuner B DVB-T terrestrial aerial socket for Freeview/Saorview before I discovered that a satellite cable from the dish (with F-Type to Coaxial Adapter) works too, perhaps because I have the terrestrial aerial and satellite dish cables all routed through a MultiSwitch?

You can also connect a hanger to a TV and receive adequate signal if you are close enough to a mast/it's powerful enough.

The wire is the same. It's what is at the other end of it that matters. With all due respect, advising that you can receive Terrestrial transmission with a dish is not optune.

you cannot get saorview via a sat dish
Well ok, maybe not directly from the dish. But I get Saorview and Freeview through a Satellite Cable from a Satellite Outlet into a Terrestrial TV Tuner B socket on a Zgemma H.2H box. And I can then insert the very same Satellite Cable into the H.2H Satellite Tuner A socket to receive the Satellite channels. Is this because my satellite dish and terrestrial aerial cables are all routed through a multiswitch that distributes the signals into wall outlet sockets?

fk,
news to me,
you can receive terrestrial signal via you sat dish.?
I have Zgemma H5 and H.2H combo boxes both connected with twin satellite cable into satellite tv wall outlets. SAT1 outlet is connected by satellite cable to Satellite Tuner A for Satellite channels. SAT2 outlet is connected by satellite cable to Terrestrial Tuner B for Freeview/Saorview. I should mention that my satellite dish and terrestrial aerial cables are all routed through a 16+1 multi-switch, not sure if that makes a difference?

Yes, I have Zgemma H5 and H.2H combo boxes both connected to the dish for Freeview. The dish acts as the antenna.
no it doesnt,
Ive even just looked at saorview website,
you need an antenna for saorview

you get freesat via the dish, NOT saorview or freeview

Yes I agree you need an antenna for Saorview. And I have an external TV/FM/DAB antenna for Saorview. The terrestrial aerial cable and the satellite dish cablea are routed through a multi switch into several wall sockets each of which has a SAT1 & SAT2 socket. So with a Zgemma H.2H or H5 combo box I get Freesat (from the Astra satellite) from SAT1 wall socket via satellite cable into Tuner A satellite tv socket. I get Freeview/Saorview (from the nearest terrestrial transmitter) from SAT2 wall socket via satellite cable into the Tuner B coax terrestrial tv socket. The signal quality from the satellite wall socket is comparable to the terrestrial tv coax socket that I previously used.

you do NOT get freeview from a sat dish
No, obviously I get Freeview from the nearest Terrestrial Transmitter at Crystal Palace. Maybe I should outline my system: I have a Terrestrial TV/FM/DAB Aerial and a 1m Multi-Sat Dish with 4 standard LNBs pointing to 13E, 19.2E, 23.5E & 28.2E. All 17 cables (16 Satellite, 1 Terrestrial) are routed through a 16+1 Multi Switch and distributed to 8 x MK K3565DABWHI wall sockets each of which has 6 Outlets for SAT1, SAT2, TV coax, FM/DAB coax, Phone & DATA (for Broadband, from another Switch).
The first Satellite cable from SAT1 outlet is connected into Sat Tuner A socket on Zegmma H.2H combo box to receive satellite channels. The second Satellite cable from SAT2 outlet is connected (with a F-Type-Coax adapter) into Terrestrial Tuner B on Zgemma H.2H to receive the Terrestrial Freeview channels from Crystal Palace. Previously I connected a coax cable from the TV coax socket into Tuner B coax socket on the box to receive the Freeview terrestrial channels.
Seems like the Freeview terrestrial signal from the SAT2 outlet comes from the Terrestrial TV Aerial and is routed through the Multi Switch then combined into the Satellite Cable? To confirm this I will connect the box directly by satellite cable to a dish (without going via a multi switch). Apologies for any confusion, hope all is clear now. Just like my Freeview signals!

He likes his FTA or clearview/non encrypted channels for sat
I did read earlier of sat dish using a clip on addon to get freeview and to switch off receiver to allow tv receive freeview :fearscream:
Use the right tool for the job or have issues.

There are always exceptions to the rule. He has tried the exception, maybe we should be assisting him to use the rule and resolve the issue?

You can install a dish upside down and it will work fine once you align it. But we do not go about telling people to do it.
