Wearing or not wearing a mask.

Bit of a long You tube video of wearing or not wearing protection and we were told we dont need to??????
Interesting video of what items the health centres are asking for even home made masks
Interesting graph of tests done on a variety of items to stop the small micron particles on .

I wear a basic mask when in a supermarket or shop, this is the only time I'm near other people.
The covid 19 virus is much smaller than other coronavirus strains
It can get through some masks

Yes i am scared shitless of dropping up to my best greengrocer as its a very popular place and always busy,my local take away you go in and order then stand outside until your order is ready.

All you can do is be as vigilant as possible.
Although I don't smoke now, I did for about 40 years, heavily. Me lungs are probably as black as a blind cobbler's thumb so I'm not keen on getting this thing. Everytime I go out, I keep my hands away from my face, the second I arrive home I lock my front door, spray the internal door handle and keys with antibacterial aerosol and scrub my hands thoroughly.
I tend to go shopping very early, 8-9 AM.
I take my dog out daily and will cross the road if someone coming towards me on my side.
I pay for petrol at the pump.
I push open doors with my shoulder or pull them open with my hand inside my sleeve so as not to touch door handles, likewise those slide-top freezers.
I have a few cloths permantly soaking in a strong bleach solution which I use to give a quick wipe over on stuff I've brought into the house like plastic milk bottles, plastic trays of meat etc, no one knows who or how many people have picked it up in the hours or mins before I bought it. After shopping put away then wash hands and I'm fairly confident I'm clean but no one knowsfor certain

I got my masks back in Jan/feb, and mortified of the price hijackers, I report them as many as I can find, after all I've been off since the 27th Feb so had plenty of time online to track down the bitches....

When I started doing the risk assessment, it was 500/1 of me catching it a week, (that's how many of my customers I'd have possible come into contact with) so I thought? OK, self employed, what can I do? **** it, my health is more important.

So I jacked it in, last day 27th Feb.

I'm out one day this week as I must fill up the car, and I need my medication from Boot's, But I'll be masked up when I got out.

No way to get an order? I know our local taxi company is doing 3 x boxes of food, small food box, £7.00 quid, 2 x box 15.00 quid etc. They deliver, leave it on your door step, take a photo and then leg it.

I know all the online food ordering companies like Tesco's and the like are all like 3 weeks away, and queuing is like 20 mins to the door.

I really can see some sort of food ration coming in.. I dunno....

Masks and gloves are a thing of past been trying to get hold of them from day one can't fekkin get none apart from pink marigold gloves (lol) but if anyone knows where I can get masks from let me know every supermarket is starting to mark out at 2mtre

On the covid 19 thread there is a link for home made masks, motor factors should have gloves.I managed to get 3 masks from local chinese shop as they were closed and he was giving them away free.
I have a full respirator mask also as it just needs to be put together, + sanitizer and gloves in the car.
Find someone that can sew as that video above if you watch it has many links that can be usable,
Local shop has the guys behing the counter wearing these.

Just been out to Boot's and to the Garage, I only seen 2 other people with a mask on, and they weren't even FFP3 masks! I didn't give a **** what I looked like....you can pick up the FFP3 filters, I might have a look at the 3D printed ones....

Don't really use masks even on rate occasion go out. How effective they are in not too sure.

I have disposable gloves if going out to local shop or something and take them off and throw away when home.

If we need anything would order online but now seems like no slots available unless click and collect.

Got to get things for parents so I prefer to get very early or very late when hardly anyone is at supermarket and shops.

My daughter has cf, which is a lung and pancreatic condition that gets progressively worse over time. The doctors from her team have said it is almost pointless wearing a mask to protect yourself from the virus. The virus can get in through your eyes, the mask only stops you from spreading it when you cough. Only way masks can work is if everyone wore one, which is near impossible. Was your hands and stay away from people is the best method. Stay safe everyone

Just my opinion so bare with me, I prefer to ware the mask as I feel safer inside, maybe that's my PTSD, I don't know. The way I look at it, is, if the mask catches just one particle of dust/virus/what ever....then that's one less to worry about it.

If I was mixing a chemical I'd sure be using mask, so why not for the virus?

I seen some people handing masks out at the entrance to the Tube yesterday, people were like, na, I'm British!

Really sad to hear about your daughter mate.

Hope she gets through this tough period and stays safe.

Stay safe mate

Cheers mate 12 weeks of self isolation, after 12 hours I was bored out of my mind

Ye has to be done mate. But at the end of the day you know unlike idiots out there you followed advice and saved lives.

Boring as anything no doubt.

Only two places I have is the garage and garden every day and that is tiresome in itself. I can't be stuck in one place for too long. Need to be moving about constantly. So this isolation is nightmare.

It’s all a bit confusing really as some people say you shouldn’t bother
But when you watch the news most journalists and doctors/nurses are wearing a mask
So should or shouldn’t you wear a mask

I wear one when shopping or in public.
It incubates so I could have it now and so could you.
I don't think a mask will stop you getting it as such but it may be of help in stopping/slowing down carriers spreading it as fast.
A billion Chinese seem to think it helps

In this day and age everybody should wear a mask as then everybody will feel safer plus wearing gloves and follows the guidelines.

think the way the paper masks work is that it stops you spreading it oral wise, as you will breathing out into mask, but if someone aint got one on, then their saliva or snot , will land on you , as for gloves same job i think keeps your hands clean inside the glove, but the outside is in contact with everything it touches, and thats how they ask you to take them off inside out, and not pull them by fingers, then bin them
