echannelizer - yet more software!

What is echannelizer and does one have to use it for IPTV oin y zgemma? I didn't expect to have to load yet more software onto my pc to manage my zgemma box remotely and be ableview the iptv package.

I thought once I had either xtremeplasyer or Jedipl;ayer installed on my box that would be all that was needed to connect and start watching. I'm wanting to trial IPTV providers to see which I prefer and to go with but if everyone is going to recommend a different piece of sponsored software then I'm not impressed. Thankfully I have good virus/adware software installed as I simply do not trust any of these extra software links. I half expect to have to connect via putty and run a script but that's complete;y different to downlaoding software to install on pc

No you don't have to use echanneliser, I've never needed to use it
Install jedi
Get a test line and put it in playlists.txt
When it's setup you'll have iptv bouquets and should have epg data for the channels too
 
Thanks. You state a test line though with no reference to what that is. Newbie here. I've got the trial working but epg is non existent, I presume because they want me to use the echanneliser
 
Have you ran epg importer to import epg menu setup epg then epg importer.
Blue for sources and go down to bottom your providers epg link will be there tick it green to save yellow to import.
 
Hi, if goto Menu > Setu>>EPG I do not have option to import. Load/Save/Delete yes but that's ony from the hdd drive. Rest of menu is regards Cross EPG, Multi EPG etc. I presume this is where provider wants me to use Channerlizer. They supply a downloable playlist file (userbouquet.favourites.tv) but with no instructions as to where to put it so effectively useless to em. I guess I will be moving on after the 24hr

For ref provider is XXX. Appreciate this may be easy to most but when you're unfamiliar and no proper instruction is given then it implies what ongoing support is going to be!

If you have a provider asking you to use echannerlizer and your testing then boot them right up the rear with a size 12

Best you do some reading up on jedimaker as its all on here for you.
 
Thats not going to help me with the specific provider epg boquets is it. Bit pointless now as by time I find relevant post, understand what to do with it, the trial will be up and redundant. One can't give ones money away!

You do not go to menu\setup\epg ,go to menu plugins and select epgimporter press blue button then select your iptv provider you have in jedimaker.
 
I would edit your posts as naming iptv provider

Epg importer was removed from plugins a while back unless been added back in now

Since when never heard of that mind you im on openatv seems when openvix they tend to talk of crossepg but even then last time i tried openvix epgimporter was there, in plugins

I know jedimaker had been removed from openvix for a short time they were trying new skin mods and last time i went toupdate jedimaker on openvix it did give warning saying tabs would not work in epg. Don't know if that is still the case aint run openvix for a few weeks that may be sorted now but not sure.

@Willo3092 is the man to ask as he's the resident vix bod...lots of people use vix but he keeps up with developments and updates etc.
I know nothing about vix as I've never used it
 
I think epg importer on openatv is not set in plugins that's easily changed though in epg importer menu.

Menu, setup, epg, epg import you should then see an option for plugin menu.

For echannelizer when adding bouquets you can auto assign epg. It's been a while since I used it though but I think you need echannelizer premium. @SayyiD Maybe able to provide a guide

As mentioned you can just use jedimakerxtream add playlist via the plugin if compatible.

If testing multiple lines maybe xstreamity would be better as you won't have multiple bouquets from each provider.

With xstreamity it works like xciptv so load plugin and you can have multiple providers to choose then go in provider and choose live, vod, tv series or catchup.

Once your happy with a provider you can then add to bouquets if you want via jedimakerxtream

As far as I know, neither ViX or ATV has the EPG tabs by default. This was a modded epgselection.py that KiddaC released with his skins.
The ViX team are experimenting with updated EPG python files that allow you to assign different functions to the remote buttons, and doing an excellent job of it so far.
I never did particularly like the 'option' button and the only thing missing now is EPG tabs.

If your iptv doesn't have service reference codes the epg wont populate unless you're running it through a Plugin that provides this. E-channelizer allows you to insert the service reference if its missing. (the older versions I find better)

[/QUO Thats part of problem, I have jedi but no instructions on how top setup. Had a link but don't qualify to down load it. If I knew how to break up the string sent so i can put into jedi then might be okay.

HI, I guess lack of experience so I'm think learnt the hard way. Now trial is over (didn't get to use it as no boquuets) I don't know how to revert back to my freeview channels. Didn't take image so am I stuck with factory reset and have to re-install whooshbuild and add-ons etc?
