I can only select Hot Bird 13.0E

Hello, I just bought a new Zgemma H5 on ebay (at least the seller said it was opened but never used)
I am trying to search satellite channels, but in the tuner configuration I can only select ‘Hot Bird 13.0E’

What could be the reason? Would a firmware update solve that?

When you go into Menu, set up ,Reception, what have you got on screen, Are you using motorised set up.

I don't have "reception" in the menu; the dish is not motorised and I'm not sure what satellite it's pointed to, I just wanted the box to figure it out

Is it a multi lnb set up? if its only a single lnb, then you will only get one sat.

Yes, there is a shotgun cable but I think that's just for recording things with the Sky decoder, I'm only using one of them obviously

Then you will only be able to get one sat, what size of dish are you using? plus where it says nothing selected, your chosen sat should be there

that’s what I’m saying; I want to be able to point the dish to any satellite, but the only option on the box is HotBird 13E

the one I had before allowed me to choose from a list of satellites

You will need to change a few things in your configuration, is it just a standard sky dish you have?

UK yes, but the box might have come from and maybe used in Italy (not sure)

Thats because it was there on the box, have you scanned for channels on hotbird?

You need to update your satellites.xml file.
A quick google will take you to a site where you can generate one with the configurations you need.
Then download and FTP to your receiver under /etc/enigma2.
Then restart and try again.
