H9S - signal but not picking up any channels

Hi, hope someone can help wan issue before I send it back.

I have recently purchased a Zgemma H9S 4K where I installed OpenATV 6.3 and latest WhooshBuild Infinity. I purchased IPTV subscription which works great. I then later found out why the box encountered BSOD when recording as I was watching another IPTV channel which I learned after research on here. I then decided to resurrect my old sky dish to watch FTA whilst recording IPTV. The dish was here when moved here 8yrs ago which gave a signal of 84% but found no channels on 28.2E using simple tuner setup. I have also tried advanced and tinkered with almost every setting (at least I think I have) I tried manual, automatic and blind scans but nothing will pick up any channels. On the blind scan it does pick up lots of transponders but still no channels. I reset H9S to factory defaults and tried again to no avail. I flashed again with OpenATV 6.2 (instead of 6.3) and latest whooshbuild again but still not channels received.

After reading lots of posts on here I purchased a new universal quad LNB as it suggested it may not be compatible. Also replaced with new cabling and F connectors, again signal 84%. I then purchased a secondhand Sky HD + box for a tenner, removed same cable from H9S, plugged into Sky box and all works fine displaying FTA channels perfectly.

So question is do I send it back? have I purchased the wrong box? or can anyone suggest anything I may have missed?

Thanks in advance

sounds like you may have missed something when setting up the config, 1st you set the tuner config to the sat you want example 28.2E, next you setup providers in (ABM) Autobouquetsmaker (set area & select sky FTA), then check for config updates within ABM, next use the scan now option within ABM for FTA sky feed channels.

IF you have a sat signal to the box (check signal finder) your system should pick up FTA channels providing you have set the above

Thanks BeakyFord for you suggestion it would seem I missed the ABM config. I will try your suggestion shortly and report back my findings.

With Wooshbuild if you have satellite frequency problem It will show up frequency
Problem after A.B.M scan

BeakyFord thank you you're a genius!! ABM pulled in all the channels after selecting regional settings. The EPG looks a mess with combined satellite and IPTV channels but will at least give me something new to play around with. At least I now know its not the H9S box.

you can cut back the FTA bouquets within ABM providers, yes to main bouquets & no to the rest & then set providers order to FTA 1st,
run scan now & you will have a simple bouquet for FTA & then your IPTV bouquets after that

Cleared everything and did as you suggested with main main Sky FTA bouquet, used epgimporter along with xtreme editor all looks much tidier now.

Thanks again for all your help. Very happy now I finally got this working after days of pain.
