Complete newbie needs help!

Hi there

I am a virgin in the sense that I have never had Satellite TV before or ever had a free sat box so I am a complete virgin in these matters.
So I am based in the UK and have just moved house, the house does not have a TV aerial, but it does have a satellite dish, of which has been checked and will receive channels, as yet the house has virtually NO INTERNET................I am relying on a very poor 4g signal through my iPhone.
I bought a Zgema H9S hoping it would serve my needs.
I got the box yesterday and connected it to the sat cable, and to my smart TV via HDMI cable supplied, switched it on to follow the online instructions of which there were none! so I go to the menu and try an automatic scan which returned no results!
So next port of call Google, and I have ended up here.

Please can someone tell me in very simple steps how to set up this box before I chuck it in the river!

You should be able to get free to air satellite services without an ethernet connection.
Are you sure it's not a SkyQ dish? If so it will not work on an E2 receiver and you'll need to swap the LNB.
 
Unfortunately I have no idea what sort of dish it is, I am presuming its not a sky dish, I can't really see it in detail, how would I tell?
 
Here it is, not the best photo, but leaning out of a window with one hand to take a photo on an iPhone with the other hand hanging on for dear life in the rain aint so easy!

So is it a sky dish?

Don't have one myself but it does look like a sky dish.
Someone will be along soon to tell you for sure
 
It's standard l.n.b Have you checked in signal finder Blue button/tunner setup/ signal finder You should have s.n.r level
And lock indicator

Press BLUE on Remote
Tuner Setup
Tuner Configuration
Tuner A
Configuration mode = simple
Single satellite
28.2E Astra 2E/2F/2G
Press GREEN to Save settings
Press RED to Close
Then Automatic Scan...

Yep just checked that and SFA, nothing at all showing in the SNR bar or any of the bars, tried a scan and it comes back with 0 found

That was helpful, I found configuration mode, cant find simple mode though, but have changed satellite to 28.2 E Astra, but sadly still no joy when scanning!

Select Configuration Mode, then right-click on Remote to select 'simple'.

I dont have configuration mode like in the video, I have watched the video and there is no ATV screen on my box, nor a wizard to show how to set the box up!?!?
