Sounds nice fellas retiring early and moving to a warmer climate, nice one. Would there not be anything different now we are no longer in Europe though?

Dunno yet , won’t be this year as obviously need to be able to get there to view places , then got to find out implications of going there but above post gives me a start.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear
When did they tow the UK to the Carribbean without telling me ,?
We are still in Europe, we have only left the EU,
Yes, that may be an issue for some, but it's not really a big issue in reality.

Yes was meaning things like pensions and medication etc

Post Brexit, you can only stay in Spain (or other EU countries) for 90 days in a 'rolling' 180 days.
Otherwise, if you wish to stay for longer, you have to apply for permission to live there.
As for how Pensions/Sickness are treated, I'm not sure..

Sickness you have to buy a private healthcare policy, over there. The prices vary massively. Sanitas which is BUPA and Mapfre, to name a couple.

Pensions, havent got that far, yet:LOL::LOL:

Will be leaving UK,soon though. Feel I have missed the boat, getting residencia. Now out of EU, I would have to take all my licences again. Car, LGV and motorcycle. All added expense!

Yeah,I’ve a property in Spain for 20 years and don’t envisage much difficulty, and will take out my heath insurance etc before I go as I always did. I’ve a full motorcycle license and if I wanted to hire a bike out could I do so? Or maybe now I couldn’t,if anyone knows I’d be grateful for the info lads.

AFAIK
You will be ok for now,
For the future you will probably need a yellow card, ( an international driving permit ) tho.

Cyprus for me is a better bet then Spain, they have recently made some great new allies which will aid in tourism as well, with deals signed with UAE, Israel. Lots of direct flights with Israel too, and they are actively encouraging Israeli tourism, great for rental potential.

Yeah Cyprus is a belter of a place, I lived in Limassol for 2 years and prices were dirt cheap at that time, but it’s a 4/5 hour flight and maybe more expensive,so for the same heat and a 2 hour flight it’s got to be Spain all the way, tourist areas are belter busy with clubs and things to do,which I can go to within 20 minutes,or best bet is head for the mountains where there are always little quiet tavernas and eateries, that why I chose espania + more regular flights by more companies are on offer. But strangely people never think of going on Iberia flights,Spain’s own carriers. Folk head straight for easy jet,Ryan air ,jet 2 . Missing all those Iberia flights that are on offer heading back home from the uk at a fraction of the price!

Totally get where you're coming from in terms of distance, Cyprus like you said is 4 hours. I use to DJ in Limassol back in the day, as they say, bought an apt there recently...will cost way more, but better returns as well. Then you have the mountains for a proper ski resort - best of both worlds.

Spain I use to love, just seems its keeps getting tackier and tackier, i dunno, maybe just in my head
