Mag322 better than 4K Firestick?

I keep reading that a 4K Firestick is better than a Mag box yet I have two Mag boxes 322 and 254 and both seem to have better connections than the Firestick with less buffering and better quality picture but both are used on the system sub as the Firestick
Have I set my firestick up wrong?
I have spoken to my Sub provider and they say there is no issue with the Firestick yet I get more buffering and picture blacking out momentarily than on either Mag box

Are you using your fire stick on Wi-Fi if so try and hardwire it mag boxes are old technology now fire sticks are Miles Better

My Firestick is hard wired via ethernet and its fine for all things except live sport where I think the picture is more stable and less buffering

I stopped using my Mag 256 about 18 months ago after using a series of android boxes along side it, they proved far more reliable and flexible in use. Subsequently converted entirely to firesticks 4K (3) a year ago. Have always used my devices hard wired as the ethernet cable is already there so not an issue. I am currently delighted with the sticks performance but as with all things IPTV, the device is only one piece of the jigsaw as is the connection and supplier etc.

Mine is hard wired but I get buffering with the Firestick more than with my Mag 322 box but do not understand why as everybody else says the 4k Firestick is better IMG_20211006_124755.jpg

Have you cleared cache on the app and also tried changing the settings in the iptv app?

You can try changing the player from the default player and change stream format to mpegts if not already on that. See if that helps.

What app are you using on firestick would be a good start.
How far away is the router from the firestick I had similar problem and disabled 5ghz on my router and just use 2.4ghz you will experience better with mags soley as they are hard wired.
The buffering could be a number of factors dosnt soley point to device/hardware

not every app you can change player bud some you can’t change

The firestick is connected through wifi, disconnect the wifi connection and try through ethernet, press the button what says forget this network
I have pressed the button that says forget this network but unfortunately my router is in another room so I cannot connect via ethernet after all, I was using plugs that connect to the router via WPS but I think that is still only wifi
Sorry am not great with technology but there is no way I can move the router closer to the TV
Guess I will just have to stick to wifi

You can buy any length of ethernet. From
1 metre - 30 metres +
No loss of connectivity between device & Router

Mag boxes are dedicated IPTV boxes so in some ways they may perform better.

Issue is a lot of providers are moving from Mac connections due to security and mags can have issues with VOD.

Mag interface are pretty basic now compared to other IPTV apps.

As usual though with IPTV with what works for one might not work for another.

Home plugs should be one plug into your router ethernet and the other plugged into your device

Yes that is the set up I have in fact I have home plugs in both bedrooms and the one with the Mag seems to work better than the one with the 4K Firestick. I am considering replacing the Mag with a Formuler F8 around Xmas hence trying to get the Firestick issue sorted out

Do your home plugs have a ethernet socket on them or are they just WiFi only?

Do you have the ethernet adapter for the firestick, you need to buy this separate it does not come with a firestick?

Yes my home plugs have ethernet sockets with them and also I purchased the ethernet adapter separately and all is connected as per the instruction I received for connecting home plugs to my router and each piece of equipment Ie my laptop and the Firestick

I can find nowhere on my firestick that shows that ethernet connection is available and when I turn my wifi off I lose internet connection.
I have looked everywhere and cannot find any option to connect via ethernet
I guess I'll just have to settle for wifi and hence why i think I get a better connection with my Mag box than with the 4k Firestick
Thanks all for your help

Have you amazon's original ethanet adaptor

I have a ugreen ethernet adapter but when i plug it into my other tv it immediately finds the ethernet connection and all was working as it should be I then removed it and connected it in to my bedroom TV and no ethernet connection found. Yet I have the home plugs connected and wifi is working as it should.
I guess using the 4K Firestick via ethernet even with home plugs when in another room from the router just doesn't work

Are you powering the ethanet adaptor via the TV or via a plug socket bud I find the official amazon one best for homeplugs

I am powering the adaptor via a plug socket I have connected the home plugs as instructed on the TP Link website and all are showing three green lights the ethernet is working on my laptop but when I use the same plug in the bedroom with the Firestick it does not find the ethernet, I swapped over home plugs but the same result then plugged the Firestick into the TV in the lounge and immediatly it connected to the ethernet so I really do not understand why it will only connect via wifi in the bedroom
