Can't recieve phone calls from O2 Network (Very Specific)

Hey guys,

I have the weirdest thing going on. I can't receive phone calls from anyone on O2

This started happening a week a go when my Mum phoned and it would dial but as soon as I click answer the call will end straight away. I just thought it was a glitch and left it until my boss also on O2 tried calling and it did the same. I then had 4 of my friends all on O2 call and everyone had same issue it would ring but as soon as i answered the call It would end.

This led me to put the sim in another handset to rule out my Iphone. Same issue. I even tried a third handset and the same issue.

I receive several phone calls a day across multiple networks EE, Voda etc with no issues as well as texts. I can receive texts from all these people on O2 with no issues. However, as soon as I answer a phone call from someone on the O2 network the call will end.

My Sim is on EE

Here is a video of exactly what happens when someone calls me from a O2 Sim

I answer the call and it automatically 'ends'

Streamable Video

Any ideas?

If it's doing it on other phones with the same SIM card. I'd get a new SIM from EE. Or buy one from your local shop and swap your number onto it.

I'm with EE. The issue I have got is I'm not receiving any calls from people on O2. Very strange. Maybe a replacement sim may be the way to go.

Yeah definatly sounds like a duff sim card with trying it out in other phones etc.
As stated try a new sim and get your number ported over.
One final check try doing a manual network roam to a different provider till it fails and then reconnect up to EE.

Very strange how it's just O2 numbers not working when calling lol. I'm on contract with EE so hopefully they can issue me a new sim.

Only obvious answer besides a network issue in your area but then it would only happen at your home or wherever this keeps happening. Process of elimination. Once you've done that and if it continues I'd be contacting EE for fix.

Yeah same obvious answer I can think of pal. I've ruled out most things it all points to the Sim!

To be 100% sure see if one of your contacts on O2 can ring someone else on EE to be totally sure its not network related etc.

Yeah they can no problem. If they even put their phone on withheld the phone call still fails

@rs500nutter i've never seen anything like it. It's like my Sim has blocked all calls from O2. If that's even possible lol. I mean my phone rings but only when I answer does the call fail. Yet all texts from O2 work fine :/

Yeah very strange indeed :X3: :ROFLMAO:

Hey @TheSource I have found this on one of the EE sites:

2 days ago I changed the 4g setting on my wife’s iPhone from ‘data and calls’ to ‘data only’ and hey presto calls work again.

Mate i could kiss you! I went into my settings and I had VoLTE turned on whatever that is? I'm not even sure that was the setting you were refering too. Turned it off and i'm receiving phone calls from O2. How this specifically effected O2 I have no idea. In fact I don't even know what VoLTE is?! Could you link me that post please.

Happy to get it sorted mate. I friggin hate when I problem solve everything and get on phone to EE and get the same tedious questions have I restarted the phone etc.... lol
Make sure you have rebooted modem
Cleared cache
Stood on one leg
And let the cat out
And then its all sorted :ROFLMAO: :X3:
