Trying out Grogbuild for the 1st time on my H2S using it as a FTA box - is it worth it?

I've had a few issues with my box recently (2 psu's gone bump in 2 weeks) and Flashed OpenATV 6.4 and Wooshbuild Infinity yesterday. I got things working eventually (I think I was using a psu without enough juice in th end)/ I saw Grogbuild mentioned in other threads and thought I'd have a look as it is more updated than Wooshbuild.

I'm obviously not running a c line anymore (unfortunately) and basically using it as a FTA, recorder and media player, would you advise giving Grogbuild a try? I'm a bit of a novice but flashed Wooshbuild yesterday via Openwebif no problem and fancy having a look. Are there any pictures of how it looks on here?

Thanks in advance

Sam

If you go down to all builds there is a guide on how to install from there yes it’s more updated then wooshbuild infinity and the author of grog free range is an active member of the forum and updates when needed

take a look at the Grogbuild Freerange thread, there is a link in my signature below.

IS it worth it is upto you, for some they just flash ATV and install what they need, others use Grogbuild/Woosshbuild/Willobuild etc as they install most of the essentials.

Definitely get grog on it it's a no brainer, just make sure you have a initialised usb/ harddrive in the box then it will be a piece of......

I have an H2H, used as a FTA box now, pausing and recording TV, also have some kids vids an tbe HDD for when the grandkids visit, I'm using willobuild 5.4, one thing I have noticed on this version is every 30 mins, the blue spinning circle in the top left for a couple of minutes, and at that point, the remote doesn't respond, just an anoyance, thing is it never did that before this build, just wondering if to try grogbuild, Cheers,

Install clear cache plugin and a swap file.

Might help but they really were a poor box.

Boooom - Grogbuild installed, cheers all! Now to have a play with it, the movie organiser shows my recordings but the font is really small and all a bit squashed up, can it be tweaked?

On the movie organiser press the menu button on your remote it should bring up some options to tweak sizes etc.

Will try this later, I do have a swap file though, it's set I think at 256mb, which is the maximum I recall, it's just I never had this issue before, yes it's an old box, but still does what I want by and large, may upgrade though, cheers MB

Turn off MovieOrganisor in plugins or set it for a time longer than 30 mins.
