Graphics card

Hi all, i play online poker and everything fine until this weekend, the screen and tables went white then off and back on,then i got an onscreen message saying my graphics card driver needed updating, i did this and started the pokerstars software again the got another message saying on the lines that my graphics card was not good/powerful enough and to turn down the animation graphics in the poker software, i did this had not white outs or screen going off but now everything at poker is very laggy.
So was thing of a new graphics card,i dont want to go too big as pc is about 4 yr old.
Without taking out graphics card this is all details i have.
It is a radeon R7 200 series gddr3 128 bit 2gb with hdmi/dvi/vga connectivity.
Would i need more gb or faster prossesor or both.
Sorry for long post but tried to give errors if it helps.

What make is the computer? ls it a home build ?

lf it is a Dell you may not be able to upgrade.

It was bought prebuilt it has amd mb, just tried looking where i bought but cannot find to get all the specs,i had a dell and vowed not to buy another as hard to upgrade anything.

Got some more specs.
Its an amd fx 430 quad core 3.80 GHz processor .
8gb ram with 64 bit os with x64 processor.
try opening machine up and clean the cooling fan on the graphics card and also the power supply fan some times dust can built up also check video cable ,

you can also try Speccy free version to get more info on computerspecs. Speccy

I tried getting the card out at the conectivity end it would hardly move even with the holding screws removed, would it it come out easier with the connectivity face plate removed. ?

been a few years but normally just one screw connects back plate but you still need to open up computer and pull graphic card up to remove it and there is sometimes a clip type connector on slot you need to pull back that also secures the card into slot.

Yeah agree with @urie get the covers off and remove the graphics card and give all fans etc a good blow out and clean up etc.
Try updating the drivers if possible and check if you have had any updates lately which might have caused any issues.

Has any new software or other prgrammes been installed since the problems 🤔🤔🤔.
And lastly if none of that works see if you can go to the last known restore point if one has been created.

Yea updated driver, no new software, except for the pokerstars software which updates regularly. But think it could be that because a while back they introduced a new graphics software and a lot of people complained but i was fine until last weekend,so will give card a clean. Also had another message off pokerstars saying uninstall graphics driver reinstall, uninstall the pokerstars software and reinstall, also got a min specs for running their software glitch free will post those as well and see what you all think.

Give the card a good looking over around all the solder joints for any signs of burning or dry joints etc and whilst you have the covers off have a good look round inside to make sure all connections are nice and tight etc.

I would do a fresh install of windows if using 7 then upgrade to 10 that should also update the required drivers is it just poker that's laggy or is like youtube ect same

Its windows 10 already,
I think its the poker software, there was lots of complaints when it was first put in an update,i was fine though until last weekend.i know my graphics card is 3 to 4 year old and that model was brought out 10 to 12 years ago. Think will need a new one but dont want to spend a vast amount with pc been 3 to 4 yr old.. so if anyone has any ideas 😁

well must say graphics card looked clean enough normally there can be build up of dust on fan, does poskerstars software use Flash Player a lot of online time programs used to use it.
Not sure but the graphics is called aurora,as i said earlier there was lots of complaints when first brought out,at first you could put old graphics on if hit problems now they phased that out.. more or less saying if your computer aint up to the job get a new one 😡
