Can anyone tell me if these are any good and if they are running one?
Thanks

x88pro x5m
I dont have one but the CPU on this is Amlogic S905X5M and delivers is up to 2.5ghz 4 core.

Your version you linked to has 2gb of ram it might be fine but id go for the 4gb model. More expensive though but at that spec it will be very good.

Thanks pal already looking at the 4gb model x88pro x5m on another site, Don,t use AliExpress it was more for link?
I just use 4k max Firestick never used a box before so not sure on what to go for.
Like the specs of this one but am walking blind when looking around. 🤔
I know it says its not certified or that's the feedback I get on youtube videos but its mainly going to be for IPTV only.

It will run anything you throw at it that one.

Let us know what you think to it in use and ill add it to the top post as an alternative if it sounds decent.

One thing firestick owners need to be aware of are Catch Up apps if needed will most likely be none 4k versions. Hence none certified.

Still just doing my homework before I commit to anything.
Also been looking at the Shield not the pro, (Cant justify the price for old kit even tho it still receives the updates) I know the remote is a an issue but I guess its like anything just a case of getting used to it.

Same SoC as the Onn 4k plus which is a low to mid tier device.
Should run iptv fine.
It runs android 14 so will have issues with interlaced content until android fix it and that’s if they ever do.
Reported over six months ago and they still haven’t addressed the issue.

I think the shield TV is edging it for me at the moment. Much appreciate all the feedback.
The x88pro x5m seems to be only a little better than what I have.

Yeah i see that, but the nature of this thread is Firestick alternatives so price point should come into it.

Shield great bit of kit but its Google TV certified and can be controlled if they want to regardless of them saying they wont at the moment.

Thanks mate lol  that's another spanner in my choice.
Yeah I want to break away from these big giants and have the freedom to use my device as I want.
Plus I get the price situation and don't want to ruin the thread. So if anyone gets the x88pro x5m before I decide it might help my decision? ( Am in no rush:smiley: ) Plus am still reading about the Interweb
So my dilemma continues on a new box.
Appreciated 👍

Exactly members need to realise what uncertified means, mainly no official apps in layman's speak.

But loads of workarounds to get the likes of Prime and Disney running. Mostly mobile 1080p apps.

100% be able to run dodgy apps that may not run on a firestick though 👍

Not a stick but I have been using a thomson box for about 6 weeks, cost about a £ 59 when I got it.
Have been impressed with it easy to use, quite quick easy to set up,
If you want you can set it to just show your apps with no bloated stuff as well.
Only little thing I have found is it doesn't have BBC I player,
but to takes a few minutes to side load.
You can put your usual apps on and they run as normal.
Disney , nextflix , prime all good, no need to sideboard.
I have used it using my phone hot-spot and it picks the signal up miles better than my firestick 4 k.
They do a stick version,
If its as good as the box it might be an option.
