Just stuck VIP on the Geant I have here and that brought in IT, the latest Geant 153 updates are a bit buggy though. Not sure how much more development they'll get but if they keep updating with latest server I'll run it until it dies.

Knowing my luck they'll move the channels back to SP1 / SP2 now 🤣

Hooked up the Combo last night and got latest Mars on there, it's still got the overly AI processed picture quality from the old firmwares, guess it's an S905X3 thing or the driver they use. You can't argue for the price though for what it can do. Took a lot longer to blind scan on Mars fw than the old GTMedia native firmwares though but otherwise very, very similar to the Geant native fw and I like you can pin your own apps to the home screen.

Had a quick go with Stremio on it and it runs but couldn't play any video back via Exo / LibVLC or external VLC. Might have to pick up a Xiaomi TV box to try that as WiFi is having issues on my old Chromecast.
 
Feels like the Viark boxes are not going to get the best of what is available. I think i will have to look at other options when the sub runs out next month. I guess it's time to dust of the e2 boxes.

I still find it an easy box to use, loosing Sly UK was a big loss but there are many other satellites that work well. Couple it with a decent IPTV service you've still got 1000s of channels from around the world. I would like to try an e2 box though due to the customisation you can do.

What can you get on an e2 box that you can’t on viarksat 4k?
 
Updated to server 1.53 on my Mediastar box today. Can someone plz confirm which channels open on Sly IT ? I can get only few Sly showtime channels only. Cannot see anything new on 13e? Blind scanned again but only few open. Assuming nothing open on 28.e?
 
I switched to a motorized dish and to be honest 28 isnt missed. There's so much on 16e for sport and in English. The debate on the gt media v e2 will go on and on for ever but its the channel you watch not the Menu! :smiley::smiley:
