Download the last working update and rename the file to update.bin then follow these instructions.

If your box is caught in a boot loop or the menu is inaccessible, you can force a romupdate:
  1. Turn off the Viark Sat 4K by disconnecting the power cable.
  2. Insert the USB drive containing the update.bin file into the receiver.
  3. Press and hold the POWER button on the front of the receiver.
  4. While still holding the Power button, plug the power cable back in to turn the unit on.
  5. Release the Power button when you see -ES- appear on the front panel display.
  6. The receiver will flash the new rom. Wait for it to finish and restart on its own.

so to begin with PT 1.29 rename the file to update.bin
then follow above instructions ?
just wanted to be clear that is what is expected to do as the very 1st step ??
 
Thanks, folks. Will give this a go later!

Update - will be late tonight until I can get to attempt to fix this. Need to get a USB adapter as all of our laptops are USBC at home blah!!

need to get to maplins today to get a USB converter.
Want it sorted before champions league final lol

Does anyone know if the latest version has been fixed (not installing it but more so for others)

Is that what you mean by messed it up ? Alway backup your channel list.

When I tried 1.30 on Saturday I noticed the expiry date on the box became blank, and the mute logo is onscreen, can't umute, I've just reflashed 1.28 and expiry date is showing but no audio.

Ive not seen that on either of those versions.

Did you factory reset after flashing as advised ?

1.29 attached if you want to try that

I didn't factory reset, will try that now, when I went back to 1.28 for some reason the dolby audio channels were not working, other english audio still did.
