Those in the know (what ever that is) say SD has a good while longer yet. But how long is a piece of string?
 
I just got my cousin the Solo2 from WOS. Hes peed. Debating whether to return it now but not sure if they will accept a return
 
Satmans been loving this HD going from day one. Strange.
Cant see it being under a year. Its taking them more than one month to remove all HD and thats once they found a way of changing encryption!
 
Are the old SKY+ boxes capable of the new encryption? Seems unlikely given that even some of the HD boxes aren't. I've read somewhere that there are circa 4m SKY SD only boxes still in the market place which probably equates to £100m+ per month income for SKY. No way can they replace all of those quickly or switch them off and lose that income. SD will be around for some time IMO
 
No it was nov last year people got letters about thomsons as a free up grade that's 7 months

telewest when got rid of analogue took 6 as they said " you need to update box or you will lose all channels and we will have to cancel your contract"

So letter , 6 months later hd channels going, pop up telling people to contact sky as box old

On this time frame ..... 6 months gone

Will take about a year but can be done , as they are pumping out these new box's as fast as they can offering customers to try out the new box's first on trial bases

Not feasible mate do your homework and you will see what i mean.Alls hypothetical with nada facts at all.Ohh and telewest lol.Completly different set of circumstances.

Seems some Sky movie HD channels have gone,but I have a question when I go on some of the channels that have got like the sky movie ones it freezes the box, is that happening to anyone else?
 
Just chill boys and girls, fussing ain't gonna fix anything, when Nagra 3 was applied to cable, it seemed like the end of the world, but it wasn't. This won't be the end of the world either.
Regardless of whether Satman, myself or Bobless are correct (or neither) enjoy what is left of the Sat scene.
