ZGemma 2s Remote control not working (FIXED CURED)

Just thought I would share. I have had my new box for about a month with no problems at all, until a week ago. My remote stopped working or if it did work I would have to press the volume button 15 times for it to respond. Anyway I bought a new remote only for it to do the same, I then bought a new box.

When I got the new box and plugged it in I was horrified to find it had the same fault, I then took the new box to my brothers house for him to look at and it worked fine, so did my old box. After researching on the net it turns out that your tv can interfere with IR signals from your remote. I changed my Samsung tv settings to eco power save mode to reduce interference as suggested on the web and hey presto it works.


This setting has different names depending what make tv you have, but you are basically reducing the interference by reducing the power but moving the box further away from the tv also has the same affect. I cant explain why the box worked for the first month, but its now up and running again.

Having remote issues on Zgemma h2s box switched on this morning and remote will not respond at all...nothing....it started a couple of days ago and eventually responded but today nothing....any help would be appreciated tried altering settings on TV but to no avail

Yeah tried batteries...it has been playing up for a few days but seems to have gone totally now not getting any response from it at all....is there anywhere in the Manchester area that I may be able to pick up a new remote cheers

Started working again which makes me think it's something other than the remote...has anyone any ideas could it be software related?

Check the little spring looking connections in battery compartment to make sure they stick out enough

you could open boxcheck solder connections look ok were i circled on picture. ( opening boxmakes warranty void)

Once again remote not responding....bought 2nd remote still doesn't respond Zgemma h2s running latest Wooshbuild no response any help appreciated....very strange even removed HDd thinking it could be that still not having it stuck on one channel no response from any button on remote

Would also like some help with this problem. Had my box about two weeks not using it daily but came down one day to find the remote was not working. Opened battery compartment and rolled batteries around it worked. Next day same thing but did not respond at all, swapped batteries just in case but no joy. I wondered if maybe it had something to do with me activating the hdmi cec within the menu on the box but cannot get back into box with remote not working, any help would be appreciated,

hi guys!
as i have said before,make sure you have no bad light fittings(i.e flickering lamps)near your box or you will have remote control problems!!
i had a bad wall light in the same room as my box and remote would stop working untill i replaced the wall light!! dont laugh its 100% fact!!
these boxes have terrible shielding so any small proble (i.e tv sending voltage down lines for auto channel change etc etc, low votage lighting transformers,)would cause these boxes from receiving remote control signals!
my box would stop remote from working for 5-10 minutes on a certain tv after turning tv on!!! then it would be fine after 10 minutes,got a new samsung tv, no probs on the same box!

i have a zgemma i55 and the control works fine on the h2s but wont work on the i55 and opened it up and cant see any problems anyone have any ideas what the problem could be

Like the first post said it's interference. When mine stopped it was the modem behind the TV that stopped it working. Pull the Z Gemma forward from your TV cabinet about a foot and it will work. It appears various devices can interfere with it not just the tv
