MTPockets OpenATV 4.2 2015/08/23 Zgemma Star 2S / 2 / H1 / H2 Backup4

hi, has anyone had success using one of these setup guides on the H2s and can tell me which one to use please?....from what i can tell some or all don`t work on the H2s model??
but i`m also reading that setup is the same for all zgemma models across the range?
and do i need to go the atv or the vix route??....my brother-inlaw set his 2s up on vix with little problem on sucmnsee`s guide but came to set my H2s up yesterday and hit problems straight away,
we are both noobs and want to make sure we/i are starting in the right place so any problems can be sorted without realising we`re following the wrong guide or using the wrong files from the start.

This build isn't for the H2S use kiddacs guinea pigs guide to set up from scratch. The process for set up is the same but the internal hardware is totally different so requires different drivers
 
I use a Zgemma star H1 with this image and it works really well.

However, is there a better box out there I can use MTPOCKETS image on as i assume this is a budget box as it is only £65?

How often do you bring out new images mtpockets?

just cos its a budget receiver, it doesn't mean its the worst one around!! the newer gemmas are getting very popular and are a lot faster - im not sure that buy spending a LOT more money you will get a proportionally better receiver

if what you have does what you want - why do you think you would be a lot happier with a more expensive receiver?

Thanks for reply.

The response time when pushing buttons for channels is poor. For example if I type 601 in for BBC news it might take 5 seconds for the 6 to come up on screen.

Is that something to do with the skin im using rather than the box or image?

Im using a VM red skin from plugins.
 
I use the Zgemma Star 2S i am new to all this. this is a brilliant and easy to use image. am having one problem my EPG only shows free view information. is there a way of fixing this

Hi Andy,

Yes click

Menu
Setup
EPG
EPG settings
You will now see a list of EPG's make sure all EPG's are set as no except the V*rgin EPG. If you are using SKY then do the same but leave only SKY selected.

you need to go to xmltv importer in plugins

then press the coulour it says to uninstall plugins ,then go to extensions uninstall the 2 xmltv files and then reinstall them
 
Just tried this. I think I done it right but the listings are still one for free view. Sorry I am new to all this. Thank you for the help and time
 
I'm struggling to get a storage device to work, I've tried a USB memory stick & external hard drive can't seem to get either to work. I've gone through everything in this thread & tried searching the forum.

All I want to do is pause/rew/ff the channel I'm watching & record the occasional program.

I only have 1 coax running from my dish but have been told pause & record should still work on the channel I'm watching.

Can anyone help please.
 
mtpockets has timeshift on by default try to disable it first then follow the instructions to initialise, convet ext3 to 4, swapfile then enable timeshift

when in providers choose your area custom not sd or hd and check that you haven't got sky uk fta only set to yes it needs to be no

go into xmltv import press blue button for sources and tick rytec uk xmltv.
Then yellow for a manual scan.

ok mate first iniatalise you usb/hardrive

then (Convert Ext3 to Ext4

then Mounts, Device Manager press the red button make sure its set to media hdd

then restart your box

then
MENU, Infopanel, Plugins, SwapManager, GREEN, Select your drive, 256Mb, takes a couple of mins to create, once created choose RED to activate and YELLOW to autostart, then exit)

once you have done this you need to go to recording settings and change them too media/hdd/movie

You need to disable timeshift first mtpockets has it on by default
 
Hi MtPockets. Just flashed my Zgemma2S using your OpenATV Image and it boots up ok but then i got sound but a blank screen...any ideas? I got the clock showing now on front LCD panel and its showing 0101 if i press some buttons..??
