I have a 4k smart tv & would like to get the best resolution (above 1080) which method gives the best resolution?
Many entry level devices only produce a max resolution of 1080, which is what I have now & I would like to upgrade my picture quality.
Midrange Enigma2 set top boxes have higher tech specs & support a 2160 native resolution so would it be worth my going down this route? (If I wanted I could run IPTV alongside my VM sub, this way I could continue using sly/vm skins & utilise the UHD carried on the VM feed plus benefit from the higher resolutions provided by IPTV).
I am aware IPTV can run on many different types of device including directly on my smart TV via an app, I realise I would only get the default interface/skin doing it this way.
Would running IPTV directly on my TV get 2k – 4k quality? How well does IPTV run on smart tv’s? my current provider says he tries to steer clear of smart tv’s but didn’t explain why.
Plenty of people recommending MAG boxes on here but if possible I’d prefer to stay with Enigma2 or run IPTV directly on my TV if it can handle the higher resolution streams.
So to get the best available resolution on my smart TV do I…
a/ Use an Enigma2 midrange set top box with a 2160 native resolution (with/without IPTV)
b/ Run IPTV directly on my TV
c/ Forget both the above & go the MAG route
