i have just transferred some music albums to a pen drive for a friend, when he put it in is pc he got the message do not open it contains a virus.it may have come from me.i am using avast freeware.what do use think and how do i get shut of it please

From a boot scan with avast it can take up to 40 mins anfield don't go away from the pc as if it finds something halfway through the scan then avast waits for your instructions before continuing its scan.

Any kind of program hacks, cracks, or keygens on the thumbdrive? Those can register as a virus due to how they operate.

no had ther was nothing on it

avast has fin and it says no infeted files

If avast dosent find it

install adaware free and malwarebytes anti malware free and spyware search and destroy and scan with them as well just

having an antivirus dosent guarentee protection unless you scan with it regularly and use diff programs to cross cover the drive

There was a virus going round a few months ago that infects removable drives in particular. I got it on my two external hard drives and it never showed up in anti-virus /anti-malware etc. There was a program released to remove it. Wonder is this it?? I think I might still have the tiny little prog to remove it.

I'll have a look shortly mate and post here. Sorry, been up on her roof for the last while (hours) trying to find Thor!

my comp has gone off completly, been tryin to sort it out keep getting message no network adapter found or installed doing my f in head in

When is it giving you this message? When you plug in USb device or randomly?

Have you gone to your Device Manager and checked your network devices?

Oh I've given up on that. Tried and tried but needed someone here in front of tv also but she has no patience whatsoever so gave up.
Here you go man. Instructions in text file. Very straight forward. Hope it helps. Let us know how you get on.

Paddy are you saying avira found a virus in the rar file for the virus remover?? I can remove the patch file and re-up? So you didn't actually use the Autorun Virus Remover?
