IPTV questions

I've added a script through putty before for a trial and then removed it afterwards. Can't remember how but it was definitely from a guide on here somewhere!

I find setting up a script through putty easier than using plugins etc but that's just me.

A script via putty is by far the easiest way. It takes around 2 mins to install and will configure your e2 box to have bouquets (like sky) and have working epg sources (done via epg importer), Its also easy to remove with a simple command sent via putty, should you not like it.

E2s arent the best boxes for iptv due to the way they 'process' everything and their low cache etc. A magbox (which is a dedicated IPTV box) is your best choice or a good android device/ firestick running either stbemu or perfect player.

Well not everyone can afford a mag box, Android box or other devices/platforms for IPTV unfortunately.

So have to make do with an E2 box. Whether iptv will work well in it I don't know.

Guys with so many different ways of getting iptv to work on devices. Is it safe to give mac address, add script to a box and other ways for iptv?

I ask as if take a number of tests and they are not right now how would I remove the script or anything else embedded in the box?

Zgemma boxes are good for iptv mate I use 2 zgemma for iptv don't use script I use username and password with a simple tutorial to set it up i dont know why people say zgemma are no good for iptv they are the star 2s is an old box but runs iptv ok the h2s is a faster box and runs iptv extremely well why pay for a dedicated iptv box when you could use the zgemma box if you have one

Number of tests I have tried to take for E2 box is saying to enter script in the box is this safe to do and how would I remove the script?

They mention to use putty/telnet but no idea as never used them programs before.

Its easy to do mate there is a guide on how to add it and remove

I havent take any tests with the script itself as wasnt sure how to remove the script.

Ones I have taken have been by installing the xtream tv plugin butI managed to remove the plugin and the ipk file from the box.

I dont want any of these files and whatever else on the box after a test has expired and not sure if its safe for it to be on the box.

If it was me I would remove after each test has expired mate

But is it just the script i need to remove or anything else mate and how would I do this?

So I could be hacked if I don't remove these files?

To be honest, if you struggle to understand what your being told on a tech forum and fail to take in the advice, then maybe you shouldnt really be part of it! Maybe you should join a cake baking forum .........
That's a bit harsh, I've not read the whole thread but we have many members on here because they are struggling with their boxes, and maybe have found information elsewhere but still not got it. We where all there once.

If you don't want to answer a question, then don't simple. Telling people they shouldn't be here and should move to another forum is not helping anyone. Half the members on here (new and old) don't understand what the SEARCH box is at the top of the page should they all leave ?

I think you just need to try some providers until you find one with a decent service and probably more importantly, good support.

Look for a provider who has it's own forum where users can openly report and discuss issues. Ask them, they'll predominantly be non technical people who'll give you the answers you want about the service THEYRE using

Lots of things in life carry a risk and IPTEEVEE is no exception. If you are worried, the best thing you can do is build up your knowledge so you can weigh up the risks involved, only then will you decide if its worth it for you or not.
Knowledge is power. All I will suggest is if possible try to limit the amount of 'frequently asked questions' on the forum by using the search function to try and find as many answers yourself and then write them down. Any remaining questions can be asked in the forum, don't let anyone put you off from doing so.

Stay cool.
The best way to get rid of plugins , scripts etc it to make a backup of your system before you start.
Try IPTV providers and boot back to the backup when you are done.
You should back up your box anyhoo.
On VIX IT IS MENU, SETUP- VIX -IMAGE MANAGER- CREATE IMAGE or something like that, backup manager backs up your settings, you want image manager.
I have about five backups.
Back up to your usb stick or external hdd.
On Opentv it will be about the same. image manager.
Try the image backup and boot from it.
Don't listen to these Slade and Garry Giitter whores.

RDF.

Done that exact step mate via FTP but strangely no xc plugin.

Bit odd.

I dont think its a big issue if these folders, scripts are on the box after test is expired. Maybe I am wrong and could cause issues.

How many files are there supposed to be in "tmp" folder as I had a number of them and after deleting one it seemed to have deleted some others? Dont know how that happened.

Got an iptv test however when I enter sly numbering to go onto the working channels it just goes onto random iptv stream channel.

Any reason why as seems sly and cable numbering has messed up since applying script for iptv?

Will that then allow me to manually enter the correct sly channel number then?

Dont want to reflash the box

Had IPTV test through script but the IPTV bouquets is before sly and cable ones.

If you move them below the sat ones then the sat ones will be on the same numbers they were before you added IPTV. The IPTV ones will start from whatever number is after your last sat channel.

Mate I have searched but cant find the right info, not sure if writing the right keywords.

Know how to remove the bouqets but cant find the way to move the IPTV bouqets at the end of sat and cables ones so numbering can go back to normal.

Cheers mate any way to move them all at once or would I have to do one by one?

Only thing is won't ABM make everything back to default as it is when it updates?

Because channels being messed up atm is annoying.
