Best box

We could do with more information, budget, do you just want IPTV or Sat/Cable as well? Do you want to do anything else with the device?

hi
Without knowing your budget it's a little difficult but i'll share my experiences with boxes I have and use regularly....

1. Nvidia Shield -Not primarily an iptv box but deffo imho the best all-rounder. Runs iptv (via kodi, supplier app, stbemu, perfect player etc) very smoothly. Plenty of horsepower and very versatile.

2. Mag 256 - From price and performance (as well as compatibility and ease of use) probably the best choice, especially for beginners and very "wife-friendly" ;-)
There are newer versions, some with reported issues. 256 is stable, inexpensive and reliable. Highly Recommended.

3. Vu+Solo2 -Handles iptv extremely well but i wouldn't recommend as it's very expensive. I have it as a throwback from cs days and run iptv on it as it would make an expensive paperweight...

4. Formuler z7+ -Just got this but works extremely well. Very smooth with plenty of power. Probably a cheaper version of Shield and basically a cross between that and Mag box. Highly recommended.

If i could offer any advice, and this is obviously a personal opinion, I would spend as much as you can afford. Stay away from Chinese boxes (i'm sure the fanboys will be on my case for this comment). Buy well, buy once. You get what you pay for.

Agree with all the above. I have a mag 256, had it for over 12 months and its excellent. Until it 'bricked' a few weeks ago I did have a h96 android box (chinese) and it was very good for the money. However if you have an LG or Samsung tv I would recommend the stb smart app which is available on the actual tv. I have been using the app since the android died and it loads up quicker than the mag. After a 7 day free trial you either pay a few £ per month or a lifetime one off payment of about £22. I have previously also used the SIPTV or Smart iptv app available on LG and Samsung, its only £5 for a lifetime licence. It works fine, but personal preference I found it difficult to quickly find channels.

I like the SmartIPTV app on LGTVs, its very quick and easy to setup. think its like £5 for lifetime

pwersonally my zgemma h2h works very well, as does my tx3 mini. For ease of use and set up,i'd buy a s905w 2gb ram android box (tx3 mini) or for a bit more, ramp the processing speed up and get a S912 Android box, something like a M8 Pro

As stated above if your budget conscious go with a i55, then a mag, if you want a nice mag/Android cross breed go with the Formuler z7+ runs like a dream for TV and Kodi. If you have a samsung or LG smart tele use the smartSTB app even cheaper thand any of the above.

Just buy either the new 4k amazon firestick or fire tv box,you dont need anything else. also comes in handy to add a vpn to if needed, and a few apps for movies/tv series.
Own several firesticks and for apps like smarters had no problem but for general use find them a bit slow and frustrating plus the fact they seem to randomly disconnect from my isp for no given reason.

Are u using ethernet or WiFi, I know seems strange but I stopped using ethernet adaptor as it was causing a issue with disconnection,
So now I just use a mix of 2.4 or 5ghz WiFi with no issues

All 3 are in the WiFi my son's doesn't do it, but the other 2 drop out. I will try changing the connection to 2.4 see if that makes a difference. One we had in the living originally never did it but that went dead and wouldn't power on :grimacing:
