hi i have a hp pavillion laptop but over the last couple of weeks i have'nt been able to stream my iptv it just freezes all the time i have a tablet and it streams no problem on that. i have tried a broadband speed test and my tablet downloads at approx 40mbps but my laptop only downloads at 2.6 mbps making watching iptv impossible. i have tried reinstalling the wifi drivers but to no effect. any ideas why my laptop wifi has suddenly slowed so much. cheers

Go into your router and give your laptop MAC address a static IP, I had this problem on my work/portable laptop, started a few weeks ago, it hasn't dropped connection or speed since,
All my usual/permanent at home stuff has static IPs and I never have issues with any of them, it was only the one that didn't have the static address

Or just get a set of powerlines and run it off powerlines lol WiFi signal is shite for laptops and pc mine you can make a brew do garden get a shower then page will have loaded pmsl

Keep mine really clean baz and runs like a dream.

thanks for reply i went on google someone advised going into my router and making it a static ip which i did and could'nt get on the internet at all. so i had to reset my laptop which allowed me to keep my files but i lost a load of apps. but the good news is my broadband speed went from 2.6 mbps to over 50 mbps happy days

All you needed to do was reboot your laptop, so it was allocated the new IP
