Vinyl Vs laminate flooring

Has anyone used click vinyl flooring to go over ceramics in a kitchen ?
The whole of our downstairs (not huge needs a re vamp) is shot at and starting to look tacky. The laminate in the living room and hall has well had it's day and we're looking at vinyl possibly all the way through downstairs.
I didn't wanna start lifting the tiles in the kitchen not if I could go over with a 5mm-6mm click vinyl.

I've ordered some samples and it looks and feels good but I'm wondering how good it is regarding heavy traffic areas.
The one thing which we do prefer with the vinyl over say the cheaper laminate is waterproof and water ingress and seams lifting when you lightly mop.

If anyone's any tips thoughts or used it that would be great

We had LVT in the kitchen/dining area 12 years ago and it's great.
It's more expensive than laminate but it doesn't fade or chip and it's softer to kneel on.
Water doesn't penetrate it and you can give it a clean with a steam mop if you don't leave it on long enough to melt the adhesive.
