usb hdd

I have found an old IOMEGA passport hdd but unsure if it works or if something is on it? I had it plugged into desktop upstairs and would not boot up connected to it. Plugged into W11 laptop and thought i would see it pop up like when you plug in a usb device. I do hear the ping of it seeing...
