2 Boxes

Hi there,

I'm running a H2S just now which is going really well so far ( fingers crossed ), my Virgin contract is about to run out so I would like to run a H2H along side the H2S, question is are the remotes different, say I want to change a channel on the H2S would that remote interfere with the other box ? I use an ir extender so the 2 boxes would be in the same cupboard.

Cheers

Bloody hell Irene, you were enough trouble with only one box! lol

Joking aside, I think the remotes are the same and will interfere with each other.
Why don't you just add a USB cable tuner to the H2S and make it a triple tuner combo beast?

Hi Willo, thanks for the kind words :whistling:, seriously that sounds good, but you know me :whacko:, how easy would that be to do, I've only just got the H2S running perfectly for me so I would like to keep it that way if possible.

Thanks again

Irene

is that just a DVB-C USB tuner or would it allow DVB-T channels to be added to?
more specifically Channel 4+1 HD and 4Seven HD which are available on Freeview HD.

Buy one of these, £49 delivered.

Download the opticombo driver from plugins.
Reboot the box with the new tuner in the front slot and scan for cable channels with ABM - sorted.

Hi Willo, well here I am again !!!! I suppose you knew I would be in touch :( I got the usb cable tuner and an f connector I put the cable into the place where the Tivo box is going, put the usb in the front slot God knows if this is right, but when I scan with ABM I'm still only getting the sky channels, I also downloaded the opticombo drivers. Can you help please.

Cheers

Irene

Ps the only tuners I can see are tuner A & B for Sky.

Yes go into it and configure it for DVB-C set your netid and provider to scan should be virgin uk

Yes. you have to download the Opti Combo driver from plugins.
Full reboot and plug the tuner in a spare usb port.
Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Tuner Configuration

Set it up as DVB-C and enter your net ID and then you should be able to scan for channels with ABM after you've also put your netid in ABM.

Thanks, net id is 0000 should it be something else ? I've set the provider to Virgin UK but when I automatic scan with ABM I still only get Sky channels.

Net id should be your area network id. In autobouqetesmarker providers change virgin uk to yes and set your netid

Find your area or closest surrounding area from the list provided.
You will need that to scan your vm channels from your area I used to use the opti-combo tunnel before getting a new box if you get stuck with anything comment here I will see if I can help you.
There will also be a thread somewhere regarding this if you type your search into Google followed by techkings it's better than the searchbar.
