has anyone tried the shield pro and 3rd gen fire tv cube side by side as regards upscaling?

or indeed any pros and cons of the 3rd gen?

Ages back I "upgraded" from, stick to shield Pro, the scaling looked dire to me as if someone had increased the sharpness by a huge magnitude, sold the shield and bought a fire cube, no real difference to the stick for me. Personally I would rather these boxes output native resolution refresh and we could use external scalers or those in the display

I don't bother.

Use dynamic or sports mode for sports

Movie mode for evreything else.

You will get different results depending on your tv.
