Guide A guide to the best boxes for IPTV 2021

I meant live subscription channels Sky etc or UK FTA channels.
I was looking at getting a nvidia Pro Max to put the IPTV on whcih I can record to a drive (I think) anything from that but also a Freesat box for general use as the wife needs simplicity....

The freesat recorder will work well.
Recording IPTV it’s not something I do as I know how unreliable it is.
I just use catchup personally.
But you can give it a go and see for self.

i am planning on getting "X96Max Plus Ultra , Android 11 , Amlogic S905X4 4GB 32GB". i wanted to record few channels as due to time difference, i can not watch them live. does anyone has any experience in recording for offline viewing? do i need to buy any specific box to have that feature or this would suffice if i connect an external USB 3 harddisk?

Hi folks,
I’m looking to buy a box that provides a great picture (I have an LG 60”4k oled) with an IPTV stream, but also takes an aerial feed (for soarview in Ireland) and a twin cable feed from an old sky dish that I have.
Is there anything available?
I currently have a firestick and a zgemma h7s doing this job in my front room paired with a 50” LG 4k oled, but I’d like one box if possible to do that in the other tv room.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

You can have iptv on Zgemmah7s
What sort of quality would that be compared to a firestick for example? Would it work as well, and would the picture quality be as good (comparing the same streams).
Also if you could point me in the direction of a thread for that I’d appreciate it.
Thanks.

If you already have an iptv sub, you can ask your provider to put your login into his xc panel.
You need to install xe on your zgemma.
It gives you an eight digit code that you give your provider, he links this to your sub and you're done.

You'll only be able to use it on the zgemma OR the android device at any one time, not both simultaneously

Yes, I think the quality varies depending on the capabilities of each device

I currently have a buzz XRS which I feel is starting to slow up. I love the buzz5 interface with IPTV and VOD all together and with a full remote. I like the whole package of buzz 5. I know there are new buzz boxes coming in the future but the price of them puts me off.

Are there any other recommendations which could match the “all in” approach of the buzz box? I’ve looked at formula in the past and like the look of them but again boxes are premium price.

Are there any cheaper boxes/sticks which have their own built in app which provides a wraparound service.

I use TiviMate on other tvs in the house and do like it but prefer the buzz interface on the main tv.

Get what you pay for at the end of the day.

I have a VU Ultimo 4k, a Zgemma 7s and a Firestick 4k Max. The Enigma2 VU and Zgemma boxes are much faster and better picture quality than the Firestick. They also give better control of IPTV, Sat and Terrestrial.
All Satellite, terrestrial and IPTV channels can be set up in the main bouquet list so channel changing and recording is very easy and fast although I rarely record IPTV channels.
