Hi ihave got my A780 and it wont load any channels all found from the inserted lead!!
compared it to my other box and have noticed the s/w update isnt on the installations menu i have tired the bigM-- toolbar and thats not working where can i get the firmware i need to flash the box and is it done by the null cable for the pc

yes because it must be last years firmware does not have s/w built in ,use the 24042011 in downloads and do a s/w from that,then do the usual factory reset/rescan.
yes use the null modem cable to flash the april firmware to box,and look at the guides to help you do it correctly.
 
Hi, Sorry for being a bit slow, but I have just realised that I have downloaded the loader file and bin file onto my computer, but it is the 2009 version. Is there a new up to date version? I have a brand new A780 and it has not been flashed yet. Can you point me in the right direction and let me know what files I need?.Thanks
 
unsure about that firmware dan as it has last years date so i dont think it will work,also it it listed in the downloads as an older file i would use the 24042011 file and then a s/w update.

i hope you have an old pc with xp and serial port and a null modem cable to flash it onto box.

Thanks Guys. Let me see if I have got this right. I download loader then follow with A780-24042011 and then follow with normal loading instructions?
 
yep thats about it if stuck a video to watch very closely:binoculars:

then connect up to tv in the usual way and plug in lan cable,then go to menu--system installation--system update,dont touch anything while box is downloading and installs and box reboots.
then you scan for channels with lan removed and is only put back in when channels are loaded.
